SA’s best ladies surfers head to Richards Bay

SA's best womens surfers will be competing in the Citroën SA Surfing Championships in Richards Bay.

THE waters at Alkantstrand will certainly heat up when three of the top surfing ladies in South Africa take to the waters to compete in the Citroën SA Surfing Championships from 2 to 9 August in Richards Bay.

Current women’s SA Champion Nikita Robb will look to make history when she aims to claim her fifth consecutive ladies title.

Robb is in flying form, coming off a dominant victory at the 2015 Ballito Women’s Pro earlier this year.

Current U20 girls champion Emma Smith will look to successfully defend her title.

World and SA Over 30 champion Heather Clark will keep the local crowds entertained with her talent.

This event is a surfing celebration not only for the locals who are surfing on home soil, but for the entire country as SA Surfing celebrates its 50th anniversary.

This edition will combine with the 10th SA Masters Championships, which will see local defending champion Fred le Roux in action.

Local surfing ‘diva’ Tamarys de Maroussem will hope to keep the Zululand flag flying high when she competes in the women’s over 30 category,

One can follow live updates with photos and videos on the Zululand Observer website.
