Abbott to york Bangladesh

The Proteas will take on Bangladesh in the first ODI on Friday, 10 July at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur at 11am local time.

LOCAL paceman Kyle Abbott bowled like an ‘experienced old timer’ in the second T20 against Bangladesh on Sunday to end with figures of 3/20 in 3.2 overs.

The Zululander closed up the Bangladeshie innings by regularly hitting the block hole with his yorkers, proving that new bowling coach Charl Langeveldt’s influence is already starting to reap dividends this early in his tenure.

Abbott’s efforts were bypassed by debutante Eddie Leie who ended with figures of 3/16 in 3.

Luckily for Abbott he has been included in the talented 16-man ODI squad that will play three ODIs before the tour ends off with two test matches.

The Oxigen Protea team claimed a comfortable 2-0 series win in the T20s with their new-look side.

The ODI squad is as follows – AB de Villiers (captain)‚ Hashim Amla‚ Quinton de Kock‚ Faf du Plessis‚ Rilee Rossouw‚ JP Duminy‚ David Miller‚ Farhaan Behardien‚ Chris Morris‚ Morne Morkel‚ Imran Tahir‚ Kagiso Rabada‚ Kyle Abbott‚ Aaron Phangiso‚ Wayne Parnell and Ryan McLaren.

The Proteas will take on Bangladesh in the first ODI on Friday, 10 July at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur at 11am local time.
