Sharks sign Coenie Oosthuizen

The four-year deal will see the Springbok prop playing for the Sharks until end of 2019.

THE Sharks have announced the signing of Springbok loosehead prop, Coenie Oosthuizen.

The now ex-Cheetahs loosehead has donned the green and gold 21 times since his debut in 2012, and has been described as versatile and able to play on both sides of the scrum.

‘I am pleased that Coenie has taken up our offer to play his rugby in Durban,’ said Sharks Director of Rugby, Gary Gold.

‘He is an exceptional player player who boasts surprising pace and is known for his strong runs and work rate around the park.’

Oosthuizen, who will join the Sharks squad in November for 2016 Super Rugby pre-season training, is replacing Jannie du Plessis.

He is the third Toyota Cheetahs player in the space of a month to confirm a move to play rugby in Natal, as he follows Joe Pietersen and Bok fullback Willie le Roux.

The four-year deal will see the Springbok prop playing for the Sharks until end of 2019.
