Today, 20 years ago, South Africa clinched the 1995 Rugby World Cup

TODAY, 20 years ago, Joel Stransky kicked a drop goal that clinched the world cup title for South Africa at the 1995 Rugby World Cup.

Seven minutes before time, Stransky kicked from 30m out, giving the home side a three-point lead over New Zealand.

Francois Pienaar lifted the William Webb Ellis trophy shortly thereafter, as Ellis Park erupted.

It has been hailed as one of the golden moments in not only SA’s sporting history, but the history of our country.
