Bay must win to vie for top spot

Richards Bay will host Harlequins on Saturday in a Fidelity Security First Division match-up

RICHARDS Bay 1 have had a mediocre season in the Fidelity Security First Division South section compared to the standards set in 2013 and 2014.

The local side is currently sitting in third spot on the log after winning four out of the eight games played.

The Bay brutes will look for a bonus point victory at home come Saturday when they take on Harlequins, who are currently occupying sixth place with only two wins under their belt.

A big win this weekend will give the boys the confidence needed when hosting unbeaten log leaders Jaguars on 27 June.

This game is a vital on for the lads if they want to end top of the log to attempt promotion into the Fidelity Moor Cup competition for 2016.

After this vital encounter, the Bay will host Westville Old Boys and then Hillcrest, two games which should result in big wins.

The squad will then end their campaign in the Fidelity Security First Division south section in Port Shepstone, when taking on second placed South Coast Warriors.

The Richards Bay 1 and 2 sides will then enter the Castle Murray Cup knock-out competition before the 2015 season comes to an end.

Kick-off this weekend is at 1:30pm and 3pm.
