Jandre ‘Kraftted’ his way to victory

Jandré Kraftt won the Empangeni Country Club, Club Championships.

JANDRÉ Kraftt was crowned club golf champion on Sunday after shooting 74 and 80 respectively at the Empangeni Country Club Championships played on Saturday and Sunday.

Kraftt, who plays off a 3 handicap, carefully ‘Kraftted’ his way around the course to finish on a gross of 154, which was enough to take the title and bragging rights for 2015.

The ladies section was hotly contested, which resulted in a tie between Rika Strydom and Berryl Dafel, who both shot a 201 gross.

The pair headed into a play-off on holes 10, 14 and 18, which saw Strydom coming out on top.

‘It was very stressful, but fantastic at the same time. The course was very dry owing to the drought, but the greens were in remarkable condition. It is always great competing in the club champs as we are all family,’ said Strydom.

Victor Mbuyazi shot 76 and 89 (165 gross) to win the B Division, with Cas Knoetze taking home the C Division title after ending on 188 gross.
