LOCAL shore anglers who competed in the Zululand Shore Angling Association (ZSAA) league competition followed a postal format.
Weather and sea conditions were not favourable for most of the clubs, and hence most anglers opted to fish early in the weekend on the reefs, in search of protection against the 2m plus swells.
Inkwazi Angling Club A team came off tops claiming first spot on 149.2 weight points.
Top angler overall went to Claude d’Offay of KwaMbonambi scoring 43.1 weight points.
KwaMbonambi’s Paul Swift landed Top Master with 31.0 weight points, with Liezel Steenkamp reeling in Top Lady angler with 11.2 weight points.
Steenkamp claimed the Biggest Fish for April, with her 42kg Honeycomb.
Top junior went to Leylan Vandayar on 2.3 weight points.
The ZSAA will be hosting their annual development day on Sunday 17 May at Alkantstrand.
Registration is from 7-8pm.
Entry is free.
St Lucia Angling Club will host the next competition on 30-31 May.
The format is a Common Venue.
