Lucky is the star of the month
Nhlanhla Sangweni has been rewarded for his 'stone wall' defence.
GRANTHAM Park Primary School’s (GPPS) Nhlanhla Sangweni is the Supersport Let’s Play Star of the Month for April.
The 12-year-old Grade 6 pupil excelled in soccer.
Commonly known by his mates as Lucky, the defender has been rewarded for his ‘stone wall’ defence.
Lucky plays for the GPPS U13 A team and earned the Player of the Tournament award at the BuiltIt soccer tournament, was invited to attend the U13 Amazulu trials, plays for Mighty Men Club in Ngwelezane and was selected for the Ngwelezane team to attend a tournament in Pietermaritzburg.
Nhlanhla also participates in athletics (high jump) and cross-country.
Sangweni enjoys listening to traditional music and hanging out with his friends during his spare time.
He wants to study medicine one day and wants to play for Orlando Pirates.
His role model is Pirates defender Siyabonga Sangweni.
The advice he gives to fellow youngsters is: ‘Never give up, believe in your dreams, be yourself and do not try to be someone else.’
