Swimming in the dark

Local schools competed in the Felixton College All Night Swim.

WHILE most Zululanders were soundly asleep, local nocturnal chlorine amphibians were out competing in the Felixton College All Night Swim at the Empangeni municipal swimming pool on Saturday and Sunday.

The event challenged swimmers to swim continuously for 6 hours (juniors) and 12 hours (seniors) respectively.

The rules state that teams of 10 had to have one swimmer in the pool completing laps in a designated time.

Schools that competed in the high school section were St Catherine’s, Richards Bay High School, Richards Bay Christian School, Hillcrest High, Empangeni High School and Felixton College.
