Tugela reel in top two spots

Tugela awarded top spots in league common venue fishing competition.

ZULULAND Shore Angling Association anglers had to prepare both physically and mentally for their monthly league common venue competition this past weekend owing to four metre swells.

The competition was hosted by the Richards Bay Angling Club, who decided to fish the eight hour competition down at Zinkwazi after confirmed reports of Dusky Sharks been on the bite the whole week.

Unfortunately the conditions became extreme and anglers had to scale down and target reef fish amongst the scattered rocky formations.

Tugela Angling Club’s A and B teams came out tops, claiming first and second spots respectively.

Top angler overall was Brad Carr of Tugela Angling Club, who scored 16.2 weight points, who also claimed the heaviest edible fish prize after landing a 3.1kg Catface Rock Cod.

Top master went to Barry Tedder of Tugela Angling Club, who scored 2.4 weight points.

KwaMbonambi Angling Club will host the next common venue competition on 15 and 16 November.
