Local riders off to nationals

Five Dayspring Equestrian Centre riders have been selected for the KZN primary schools team to compete in the SA

FIVE Dayspring Equestrian Centre riders have been selected for the KZN primary schools team to compete in the SA Championships from next week at Misty Meadows Equestrian Centre in Pretoria.

Grantleigh pupil Kelly Ervine and her horse Silver Diamond will compete in the level 5 and 6 Dressage, Show Jumping, Working Hunter, Equitation and Eventing categories.

Eventing consists of dressage, show jumping and cross country, with all three scores being combined to determine the winner.

Jessica Johnson from Grantleigh will take her two ponies, China Black and Figment, and participate in level 1 and 2 for Working Hunter, Working Riding, Equitation, Prix Caprilli and Show Jumping.

St Catherine’s pupil Nikita Lombard and her horse Dancing Minstrel will look to dominate in the level 1 and 2 Working Hunter, Equitation, Prix Caprilli and Show Jumping events.

Natasha Oosthuizen and her horse Jasper will compete in the level 1 and 2 Dressage, Working Hunter, Equitation, Prix Caprilli and Show Jumping events.

Olivia Johnson of Grantleigh and her pony Heidi, will challenge for honours in the Newcomers Challenge (Dressage, Working Riding, Performance Riding, Equitation and Show Jumping).
