Local grapplers go high performance

Richards Bay wrestlers claimed medals at the KZN Open and qualified and competed in the SA Regional Championships.

A GROUP of Richards Bay wrestlers recently dominated their opponents on the mat when they claimed a good hall of medals at the KZN Open tournament held in Newcastle, while a good number qualified for the SA Regional Championships in Middelburg on 6 September.

Fifteen wrestlers participated in the KZN Open, returning home with 28 medals.

The local lads snatched a total of 14 gold, 8 silver, 1 bronze and 5 LTDP medals.

LTDP medals went to Rynard Boshoff (U6), Quintus Jordaan (U8), Teegan la Grange (U8), Stefan Jacobs (U8) and Morris Fox (U8).

Medals went to Cadon la Grange (silver), Louis Lombaard (gold), Luan Boshoff (2 x gold), Shaldon la Grange (2 x gold and 1 x silver), Bradley Human (silver), Ruben Meintjies (2 x silver), Michael Venter (1 x gold and 1 x silver), Divan Meintjies (1 x gold and 2 x silver), Ruben Linde (3 x gold and 1 x bronze) and KleinJan Combrinck (4 x gold).

The following Richards Bay wrestlers qualified and competed at the SA Regional Championships.

Receiving LTDP medals in the U6 and U8 age groups were Rynard Boshoff, Quintus Jordaan, Johannes Adam, Teegan la Grange, Stefan Jacobs and Morris Fox, and in the

the U10 and U11 age groups Cadon la Grange, Luan Boshoff (bronze SA medal) and Louis Lombaard (silver SA medal).
