Saints soccer challenge

Richards Bay High School (boys) and Felixton College (girls) won their sections at the Saints Soccer Challenge.

A TOTAL of eight high schools from all over Zululand sent their first team boy and girl soccer sides to St Catherine’s on Saturday to compete in the annual Saints Soccer Challenge.

Teams contested in a round robin system, collecting 3 points for a win, 2 for a draw with a score, 1 for a goalless draw and 0 for a loss.

In the end, the team with the most aggregate points won.

This made every game exciting as fast, end-to-end games with loads of strikes at goals made matches interesting.

In the end, Richards Bay High School claimed the boys crown, with Felixton College taking the girls crown after ending top of their respective logs.

All teams put on a fine footballing display, proving that soccer in Zululand is alive and well.
