GPPS claim soccer crowns in Felixton

Grantham Park Primary School dominated the annual Tiger Wheel and Tyre Soccer Festival.

GRANTHAM Park Primary School (GPPS) dominated the annual Tiger Wheel and Tyre Soccer Festival held at Felixton College on Saturday, when both the U13 A boys and girls soccer teams claimed tournament glory.

A total of 16 schools from all over Zululand participated, enjoying great soccer.

Coaches, parents and supporters backed their teams as they competed.

The boys section competed in a round robin system, before moving onto the semi finals and finals, while the girls teams were split into two pools, who played each other before moving onto the semi finals and finals.

Participating schools were Kwambonambi Primary Holy Childhood, eShowe Junior, Mtubatuba Primary, Hluhluwe Primary, Mtunzini Primary, Empangeni Christian School, Zululand Remedial School, Grantham Park Primary, Empangeni Preparatory, Veldenvlei, Felixton College, Grantleigh, Mtubatuba Christian Academy, St Catherine’s and Richards Bay Christian School.

‘I would really like to thank Tiger Wheel and Tyre for their continuous sponsorship and to all the teams for coming out to our tournament,’ said Felixton College Junior School Sport Co-ordinator Teresa Wickham.
