Crusaders slaughter Bay boys

This drumming now officially ends the 2014 season for the Richards Bay 1 and 2 sides.

RICHARDS Bay 1 had a small taste of Premier League rugby after they were slaughtered 76-3 against Crusaders in Durban on Saturday afternoon in a Castle Murray Cup competition knock-out clash.

The club that celebrated a three-point victory over the Rhinos outfit a week ago, was no competition for the Durban based club.

Despite the club, players’ and spectators’ firm belief of being able to compete in the premier league, the result cemented their fate.

This drumming now officially ends the 2014 season for the Richards Bay 1 and 2 sides.

Richards Bay 3 will still be in action in the Weber Cup this weekend.

The home team (Crusaders) dominated right from the kick-off.

Crusaders dominated the scrums, line-outs and set pieces, giving front football to their expansive backline, which cut holes through the Bay defence.

It was raining tries for 80 minutes in Durban North, as the home team racked up the points.

After having another successful season in the first division, it’s a disappointment to end one’s season with such a hiding.
