Bay brothers make the cut
Rajakumar brothers bring home SA colours and will represent the national team in Cape Town in October.
COMPETING in the South African National Indoor Cricket Championships in Gauteng recently, local brothers Seth and Sagel Rajakumar brought home SA colours and were selected to represent the national team in Cape Town in October.
The boys’ parent, Viresh Rajakumar said thanks to sponsors who pledged financially; his sons together with 40 other children were able to attend the selection championships from 27 April to 3 May.
They are part of the KZN North Indoor Cricket Club, Junior Development Indoor Cricket League and practice at the Richards Bay Indoor Arena.
‘The tour was hectic and exciting and the youngsters performed exceptionally well and we are grateful to the members of the community who supported the group and made their achievement possible.
‘Of the 42 participants, Seth and three others – Jeandre Viljoen, Francois Fourie and Chad Coburn – made the U13 SA team while Sagel was the only local player to secure a spot in the U11 squad,’ he said.
