ZULULAND motor-cross rider Calvin Hume claimed a top podium finish at the KwaZulu-Natal Junior Championships during the weekend, which was held at Jolivert on the South Coast.
Hume claimed first place in the senior division, starting his 2014 riding season off on a high.
Calvin is currently riding in his second year for the Fast Powersports team on his new 2014 Kawasaki KX 100.
The Grade 9 pupil recently got recognition from his school (Felixton College) when he was awarded full-colours for off-road racing.
The youngster will aim to keep this form for the next race, which will be held in Greytown on 23 February.
