Kewley hits hole-in-one

Mngadi wins the Monthly Mug Competition with a 69 net

TREVOR Kewley picked the right club when he stepped up onto the 17th tee-box and smashed the ball sweetly to hit a hole-in-one on Saturday when playing in the Monthly Mug Competition at the Empangeni Country Club.

Despite this great achievement that every golfer dreams about, Kewley did not win his division, but will always have that lasting memory of that shot which I am sure will be discussed time and time again at the 19th hole.

Golfers got straight back into the action after the holiday season, when they came out to see who would claim the bragging rights for the Monthly Mug Competition.

Participants followed a Medal and IPS format over 18 holes.

With scorching hot weather conditions, players managed to catch a suntan while playing their rounds.

The greens were well kept which made one’s short game vital.

But it was R Mngadi who won the A division with a 69 net and Craig Smith who won the IPS with 42 points after playing a superb round of golf.
