THE KZN senior citizens team will be looking to defend their national title at the prestigious Golden Games taking place in Boksburg, Gauteng this week.
The KZN side have officially left for the games after an official sending-off function in Ladysmith over the weekend.
The objective of these games is to promote increased participation for older people in sport and recreational activities for life long wellness.
The programme is partnered between the Department of Sport and Recreation, Social Development and the Department of Health at both national and provincial level as well as the Office of the Premier.
The Deputy Mayor of Emnambithi Ladysmith Municipality Councillor Sindiswa Mfusi conveyed the words of encouragement to the participants on behalf of the MEC for Arts, Culture, Sport and Recreation, Ntombikayise Sibhidla-Saphetha.
