THE Department of Sport and Recreation in uThungulu district, with other stakeholders, will be hosting a District Big Walk on Sunday 6 October from the Meerensee swimming pool in Richards Bay.
The national initiative is aimed at promoting the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Breast Cancer Awareness and a healthy lifestyle amongst residents.
uThungulu Sports and Recreation promotional officer Sfiso Ndlovu said the event will include 6km and 10km walk and encouraged everyone in the district to be involved.
‘We humbly request your involvement in this Big Walk. It is not just a walk, but we are trying to change people’s lives and motivate them to contribute positively to society,’ said Ndlovu.
The walk will be free to everyone and will start at 8am.
