Caught out in bad conditions

Batting partners M Biyela and C Mthethwa remained unbeaten on 44 points to win the uThungulu Cricket golf day

GOLFERS (56) put on their raincoats and grabbed their brollies when they participated in the uThungulu Cricket Golf Day at the Empangeni Country Club on Saturday.

Competitors followed a 4 Ball Better Ball Stableford format which aided team play under the miserable conditions.

But it was batting partners M Biyela and C Mthethwa who remained unbeaten on 44 points to win the day.

The wet and water drenched course made play difficult and challenging for all players, but the visit at the 19th hole went on well into the evening.

All funds raised went towards promoting cricket as a leading sport in the district.
