Hooking Reddy made fish

Reddy fishermen have tight lines

RAJEN Reddy left the Durban docks to fish at Richards Bay’s Shaky Rocks – and partnering uncle Bala Reddy the fish came out nice and steady.

The scoreline? Bala 2, Rajen 1 and fish 0.

Casting out early on Wednesday morning (3am) and sliding in three live shad as bait appeared to be the ‘right spice’ for a winning recipe.

Rajen landed the first of three with his 14 foot Poseidon rod and Grandwave reel and landed a 16kg whopper with a 10kg line.

He played the garrick like a car salesman.

Next was Bala’s turn, landing a whopping 10kg garrick with his lucky Loomis 13 foot rod and Shimano reel. Bala used his 16kg line to his benefit when he fought the fish for the night’s spicy dish.

Bala thought he was done, but again was called into action when his line took off like a freight train.

This time he landed a 8kg garrick to end the fishing trip with the Reddy family’s scoreboard reading 3 and garrick family 0.
