Dynamite comes in small packages

THE legendary old saying ‘dynamite comes in small packages’ proves true for Jandre Viljoen, whose sporting résumé drops jaws wherever he goes.

Jandre (12) who is currently in Grade 6 at Veldenvlei Primary School, was the first junior student to receive honorary colours.

His résumé includes:

• U9 Grantham Park rugby player of the sports day in 2009.

• U11 KwaZulu Natal (KZN) ring-ball squad and South African ring-ball team in 2009.

• 2010 received his U10 Northern Coastal colours for athletics and cricket.

• 2011 made the U11 KZN Indoor Cricket team, KZN ring-ball and South African colours for ring-ball in 2011 and captain the South African U11 ring-ball side.

• 2012 made the U11 KZN outdoor cricket and KZN Indoor Cricket team and received his South African Indoor Cricket colours and went to the World Cup where he played against New Zealand and Australia.

• 2012 he bagged the sportsman of the year award at his school.

He was recently selected for the U12 Northern Coastal Outdoor Cricket Team and will attend the KZN trials in Durban later this year.

He bettered this by recently representing the KZN indoor cricket team where he received his South African colours for the U/13 side, which will go on the South African coastal tour at the end of the year.

He was the July Supersport Lets Play winner and is in competition for the overall winner of 2013.
