TWO rhinos have been found dead at Ozabeni and a suspected poacher was shot in the uMkhuze Game Reserve on Monday.
One white rhino was found dead in a snare on Thursday, while an old carcass was found on Wednesday last week in the Ozabeni section of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park.
According to Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife, 74 rhinos have been poached in KZN this year.
Of these, 62 were white and 12 black rhinos.
Ezemvelo has lost 52 rhinos in their reserves, while private and community conservation areas have lost 22 animals.
Law enforcement officers have arrested 49 suspected rhino poachers and recovered 34 firearms in KZN.
The national total of rhinos killed this year as at 14 October is standing at 868.
