LETTER: Lack of service delivery in ward 26 suburbs

Aquadene or Ward 26 has always received poor service delivery

The community of Aquadene seems to be forgotten or it is just one of the areas of neglect in the City of uMhlathuze.

As a community activist in ward 26, we demand that the people of Aquadene receive the best service delivery possible.

The people are in need; people cannot survive because there are tariff increases which cannot be kept up with, plus the recreational places like play parks are damaged to such an extent that children cannot even play at the park.

There is no proper swings or playing equipment for this community’s children.

It is vital that communities are equipped with such recreational facilities to deter children from mischievous behaviour or from being led astray down the path of substance abuse and physical abuse.

As a pastor and community activist I work with my organisation Survival Centre NPO in ward 26, and I try my best to assist the community of Brackenham and Aquadene via the organisation.

We demand proper service delivery and believe it is time for change. We are tired of broken promises from people who don’t really have our people’s interests at heart.
