LETTER: Appreciation for excellent vaccine service

As we all know, Covid is now a part of our daily lives.

As we all know, Covid is now a part of our daily lives.

So when the government said those over 60 years of age must register for the vaccination, my father, mother and granny went ahead and did so.

My father completed the registration and I helped my mother and granny with theirs.

Three weeks later, they received their SMS notifications with details of their vaccines and yes, the doubt and fear crept in.

But, owing to the fact that last year five of our eight family members tested positive for Covid-19, we felt it is important that we all get the jab, just like we all take our yearly flu vaccine.

Because my parents and granny are on my medical aid, they were referred to Life Empangeni Private Hospital to get their shots.

I was at work when they received the SMS, so I called ahead and enquired about where they must go so I could give them clear directions.

The lady gave me the directions and assured me that all is in place and there was nothing to worry about.

I would like to say thank you for the great service, Life Empangeni Private Hospital. You guys delivered to my family members who are in the elderly and vulnerable category.

They were treated with the utmost care and I can really attest that getting the vaccine was a smooth ride for them.

My father was the first one to get his jab and was quite excited that this memory was captured by the Zululand Observer. This made him feel enormously proud of getting his vaccine.

Their next shot will be on 12 July, as it is the Pfizer vaccine that requires two injections.

Keep up the good work Life Empangeni Private Hospital, and to the Zululand Observer for creating awareness of the vaccine.
