I PERSONALLY know of several friends right now who are aching to have a child, to be mothers and fathers, to experience the joy of raising a child and sharing all the love they have been waiting to share for so many years.
I know what they have sacrificed – emotionally, physically and financially – in their unfailing quest to be parents.
Their tears, their heartache and their longing are all at the forefront of my mind as I read with horror about young women who throw their newborn babies – such precious lives – into rubbish bins alongside take-away containers and soiled napkins, to die alone.
I remember the first moments I shared with my baby when he was born, and know how overwhelming that time is for mom and baby.
Surely, surely, there is a better way?
Surely there is some other option?
If you had wrapped your child and left him where he would be found, perhaps he would have ended up in the arms of a loving adult who have waited for him their entire lives?
