When the media gets it wrong

Imagine having a job where the only thing people do is wait for you to mess up?

OVER the past few weeks I must say I have noticed quite a few small and not so small errors in the many newspapers and online publications I frequent.

Oh yes, it is always quite hilarious to see people very quickly jumping to the occasion to point out mistakes, on public platforms no less.
I have not now, or ever will, feel the need to point out obvious errors.

The folks that work for the newspaper might have missed it first time round, but guaranteed they saw it long before anyone else.

I can only imagine however, how it must feel to have every small mistake highlighted by at least 10 ‘avid readers’ on Facebook or other social media.

Imagine having a job where the only thing people do is wait for you to mess up? Quite stressful I would say.

If an engineer makes a mistake, people are likely to die.

When a doctor makes a mistake, someone will definitely die.

When a newspaper makes a typo? No one will die, that’s a promise.

Thank you ZO for always doing a sterling job, no matter what the circumstances.

We ignore the typos, because the content of the stories is what really matters to us.
