Dr Mo’s Valentine’s special

It is sure to be an action packed 'Day of Love' this year.

Dr Mo Lovemore is Zululand’s own Dr Phil and possibly clairvoyant after being struck by lightning on the golf course.

He answers men’s questions on relationships and just about everything else.

Question from Brad:

Dr Lovemore it’s February, which means Valentine’s Day is coming up.

I don’t have the slightest clue what to do for my wife. Do you have any ideas for me Doc?

Dr Mo Lovemore answers:

Dear Brad: it is all good and well that you want to do something special for your wife on Valentine’s Day but anything for her this year is out of the question.

First of all, the 2015 Cricket World Cup starts on Saturday, 14 February.

The opening game, between New Zealand and Sri Lanka is scheduled to start at one minute past midnight on the morning of the 14th.

That is South African time, so Brad, on the evening of the 13th it is important to go to bed early enough to wake up for the game.

The next game, Australia vs England starts at 5.30am and then there is also the SA/Zim game at 3pm in the afternoon.

I suggest you record the Aussie/England game and watch that on Sunday.

Then, Saturday 14 February is also the start of the Sharks’ 2015 Super Rugby season.

They play the Cheetahs at Kings Park in Durban.

Kick-off is 5pm.

That is also a game which you cannot miss.

Well, seeing that it is Valentine’s Day, maybe you can take the wife to go see the Sharks play?

No, on second thoughts, rather not.

Rugby is for guys and better to take a few friends instead.

Your wife will just sit there, with a pained look on her face like that time she found a earring under the car seat and which she still claims is not hers, and not appreciate the sacrifice you have made to take her instead of your friends.

Brad, it’s not your fault that Valentine’s Day falls on a Saturday this year.

These type of things are out of your control and your wife should surely understand that there will be many more Valentine’s Days but only one 2015 Cricket World Cup.

No! Unfortunately Valentine’s Day will have to be forfeited this year.
