Law enforcement efforts yield successes over Easter period
More than a thousand motorists charged as law enforcement yields positive results on KZN roads
Six fatalities were recorded in six separate crashes on KZN roads as of midday on Monday.
This is according to MEC for Transport and Human Settlements Siboniso Duma, who has commended law enforcement efforts over the Easter long weekend.

He applauded the Road Traffic Inspectorate working with Road Traffic Management Corporation, SAPS and traffic officers from all municipalities who recorded:
● 6 fatalities from 6 crashes. Far better than last year during the same period. Last year 21 crashes and 21 fatalities during the same period.
● 13 arrested for drinking and driving.
●24 arrested as they had outstanding warrants of arrest.
●77 cars impounded as they had no permits.
●15 657 cars stopped and checked.
●108 motorists were intercepted with no driving licence.
●122 with unlicenced vehicles detected
●1 360 charges served on motorists.
●258 speed charges written and served on motorists.
