Hluhluwe murder suspect arrested

A suspect who was arrested in Mtubatuba for being in possession of a dangerous weapon is believed to be behind a murder that occurred elsewhere.

The police said that at the time the suspect was arrested, the arresting officers were unaware that a victim was ‘lying dead’ at a clinic in Hluhluwe.

Before the arrest, the police received reports that a murder victim had been identified at Hluhluwe Clinic.

It is reported that Skhumbuzo Kunene (Nsele) (40) was taken to the clinic by his relatives after he was stabbed, allegedly by the now arrested suspect, following a dispute between the two while drinking together.

It is alleged that an argument between the deceased and the suspect led to the latter drawing out a knife and stabbing the victim in the back.

The suspect was arrested by KwaMsane SAPS in the eMfekayi area.
