Body found near footpath

A case of murder has been opened after a body was found near a footpath in the eSifundeni area

Hluhluwe Police opened a case of murder after a body was found near a footpath on Monday morning.

Dumisani Jabulani Mkhwamubi’s (53) body was found in the eSifundeni area in Hluhluwe at around 8am.

The police found clear evidence that he had been in a fight or struggle.

“He was covered in mud which indicated he had been kicked in the chest or jumped, and it is possible that his neck was broken,” said police spokesperson Captain Justice Hlabisa.

The police suspect Mkhwamubi was the victim of a crime of anger as he was not robbed.

His backpack was on his back with some personal items in his pockets.

The police said the suspect is unknown at this stage but investigations are ongoing.
