Teen allegedly raped by suspect known to her

A suspect who was arrested for raping a 17-year-old girl is due to appear at Hlabisa Magistrate’s Court on 17 October.

Police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshuinda said the rape occurred in Mpembeni area on 8 September.

“The suspect (35) is allegedly known to her. The suspect appeared before Hlabisa Magistrate’s Court on 11 September and the matter was remanded to 17 October,” he said.
