No sign of missing Sodwana Bay diver

The search is ongoing for Warren O'Reilly (50) who went missing during a technical dive at Sodwana Bay on Monday

DESPITE an ongoing, extensive search by both sea and air, the diver who went missing during a technical dive at Sodwana Bay on Monday is yet to be found.

An update was issued today (Friday) by the NSRI, who named the man as Warren O’Reilly (50) from Gauteng.

SAPS Search & Rescue, SA Airforce 15 Squadron and NSRI St Lucia Station 40 have been involved in the search operation, which is still ongoing.

“We are appealing to commercial and recreational boaters to keep a sharp look out south of Sodwana Bay and southwards to beyond the Durban coastline,” said NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon.

“Hopes remain high that the diver surfaced and is adrift at sea.

“Anyone with information that can assist the police in this case can call Mbazwana Police Station on 035 5710005.

“All thoughts, care and compassion are with the family of missing Warren O’Reilly in this difficult time.”
