The areas that will be affected include Mtubatuba, Nkandla, Mandeni, Mthonjaneni and Hlabisa.

Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs MEC Rev Thulasizwe Buthelezi has placed disaster management teams on high alert across KwaZulu-Natal in anticipation of the adverse weather conditions.

“These inclement weather conditions pose a potential risk to human life and livestock.

“Disaster management teams have been assigned to monitor areas prone to weather-related incidents.

“Residents who rely on generators and braziers are urged to use caution when using these methods to keep warm,” said the MEC.
