Police aim to flush out criminals

Provincial police descend on Empangeni for parade

“Police are mandated to protect the citizens of this country. We need to squeeze criminals in every corner and make sure they do have any place to breathe.”

This was the message from senior provincial SAPS officer Brigadier Msimango during a police parade held on the Empangeni Rugby Club field on Friday.

Msimango told the scores of police members in attendance that their priority is to give protection to members of the community.

“We must make a difference in our communities. Remember that we are dealing with criminals. We are dealing with people who are polarizing our communities.

“As police, we must ensure we provide communities with protection, they depend on us for that.

“We won’t rest until all criminals are brought to book. Let us go out and conduct roadblocks to search cars for guns. This is where our guns are exposed to them.

“But think about safety first and wear your bulletproof vests as we have lost many police officers. We cannot allow criminals to keep on torturing our communities, we need to make a statement and use this opportunity to our best abilities,” said Msimango.

Msimango added that the police will never allow criminals to take over the country, and warned officers who are involved in any criminal activities that they will be treated as criminals.
