Unhygienic food joints shut down

Rotten meat and expired cool drinks found at fast food joints during multi-disciplinary operation

Numerous shwarma eateries in eShowe were shut down with immediate effect on Friday for selling food in unhygienic conditions.

With businesses making a habit of violating food health and safety by-laws, a multi-disciplinary operation spearheaded by King Cetshwayo District Municipality’s Environmental Health Department in partnership with uMlalazi Municipality took to the streets.
