Community reserve dehorns rhino to curb poaching thanks to donors

In a bid to curb poaching incidents, Somkhanda Game Reserve in the far reaches of northern KZN has become the latest protected area to dehorn its population of rhinos.

The three-day dehorning operation on the community-owned Big 5 reserve took place last month as a collaborative effort with Rhino Recovery Fund who funded the operation, and other role players.
