Six injured in N2 smash

Five people were seriously injured and a sixth sustained moderate injuries after two vehicles collided on the N2 yesterday evening (Saturday).

The accident occurred on the N2 in the Pennicuik area at around 7pm.

Mounties EMS attended the scene, where paramedics treated the injured before transporting them to hospital for further medical care.

This was at least the second serious accident over the weekend, with another occurring between a truck and light motor vehicle on the John Ross highway earlier in the day.

Mounties EMS also attended that scene, but reported no serious injuries.
