An accident involving two trucks and a bus brought the N2 just south of Mtubatuba to a standstill early this morning (Wednesday).
The collision occurred at about 5.30am in the vicinity of the Mfolozi River bridge, where construction work to the bridge is taking place.
For some weeks, the N2 has been closed in that section, with motorists diverted onto the on-ramp/off-ramp as bridge rehabilitation is ongoing.
While no serious injuries were reported in Wednesday morning’s accident, the roadway was still closed after 9am, with motorists having to use a detour via the uMfolozi Sugar Mill road.
