Temporary dwelling for family of eShowe fire victim

Human Settlements department profiling further fire victims in King Cetshwayo District

A temporary residential unit is being built for the Gazu family in eShowe after their five huts were reduced to ashes over the weekend.

The family also suffered the loss of one of their members, 67-year-old Muntukabongwa Mphikeni Gazu when out of control wildfires ravaged the area.

Transport and Human Settlements MEC Siboniso Duma said, following the death of Baba Muntukabongwa Mphikeni Gazu, their immediate focus is to help the family give their lost loved one a dignified burial.

“A roving team led by HoD Mdu Zungu has visited the Gazu family and is also profiling other families in distress,” said Duma.
