A man in possession of an unlicensed firearm and 11 rounds of live ammunition was arrested on Tuesday.
Following a tip-off on illegal firearms and ammunition at Yetheni reserve, Mtunzini SAPS and Empangeni Public Order Police swooped in.
When authorities came across a white Nissan NP200 bakkie, they stopped the vehicle, did a routine search and found the suspect (32) in possession of the gun and bullets.
He was arrested and charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
According to SAPS, he made his first appearance at Mtunzini Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
