Empangeni landfill site fire continues to harm residents’ health
Three weeks after the landfill site fire began, Empangeni residents and motorists still have to put up with the noxious fumes
The blaze that began on 2 June at the Empangeni landfill site continues to smoulder.
Also fuming are local residents, especially those in Empangeni, who are finding the stench of the acrid smoke almost unbearable.
The cause of the fire, which flared out of control during gale force winds the following weekend, has still not been adequately explained.
