One dead, five injured in R102 crash

The working week got off to a tragic start for six people who were involved in a multi-vehicle accident on the R102 near Mandeni this (Tuesday) morning.

IPSS Medical Rescue and IPSS Search and Rescue responded to the call out earlier this morning and found that four vehicles had collided.

Four people were treated for minor injuries, a fifth was critically injured, while one person had sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased on scene.

Owing to the nature of the critical patient’s injuries, a med-evac helicopter was activated.

The patient was airlifted to hospital by Netcare 911 for further medical care.
