Zululanders show ubuntu to Tongaat tornado victims
Following the destructive tornado that ripped through Tongaat last week, Zululanders have rallied to provide much-needed relief to devastated victims who are battling to pick up the pieces.
Essential items collected from Zululanders, including groceries, clothing, blankets, crockery and furniture, arrived courtesy of Eagle Express in Richards Bay at the Haven of Rest NPO in Tongaat on Monday for distribution to the most affected areas.
Haven of Rest is a drop-off zone for relief and is on the ground helping victims daily.
With Shalom Lighthouse Empangeni co-ordinating relief efforts, Ps Raveshen Ramsamy said they were overwhelmed and grateful for the generosity and compassion shown by the Zululand community to aid the most affected communities.
