The SA Weather Service (SAWS) this morning (Monday) issued a level 1 warning for damaging winds along the KZN coastline, in effect from 10am to 11pm tomorrow (Tuesday).

Affected areas are KwaDukuza, Mandeni and uMlalazi in the Zululand region, as well as eThekwini, Ray Nkonyeni and uMdoni.

According to the SAWS, strong, gusting north to north-easterly winds with average speeds of up to 25 knots (46k/h) are expected, leading to a build-up of sand along coastal routes; localised disruption of small harbours; and small vessels at risk of taking on water or capsizing.
