WATCH: Local IEC speaks on voting day glitches

IEC in King Cetshwayo addresses Election Day issues at voting stations

Despite some reported issues at some voting stations including long queues, network problems and dysfunctional Voter Management Devices (VMDs) in the King Cetshwayo District, the IEC in the region hails a successful election day.

Speaking to the ZO at the Richards Bay Civic Centre on Thursday, IEC King Cetshwayo regional manager Stella Dlamini said while there were initial challenges at the start of the day, all voting stations opened on time and processes ran smoothly.

She said the huge voter turnout was also welcomed.

“We are happy with the overall performance of our staff,” said Dlamini.
