Empangeni church clinic reopens after five years

Clinic at Empangeni Baptist Church is back in operation

Almost five years since it closed its doors, the clinic at Empangeni Baptist Church is back in business.

The clinic hopes to be the backup it once was to the notoriously busy Empangeni Community Health Clinic.

The main clinic in the area is usually abuzz with patients, the queues often leading into parking lots.

The reopened church clinic is looking to assist and ease the flow from the main clinic to ensure everyone’s health needs are seen to.

Church member and long-time organiser of the Baptist Church clinic, Ian Howell said the clinic closed its doors during Covid, but is now back in operation.

“We welcome the community to return to the once well-known clinic and hope we can help ease the workload at the main clinic.”

One of the Nurses on site, Muzi Biyela mentioned, “Over time we want to introduce a separate men’s health ward to assist with chronic and male-related health issues.”

The main purpose of this clinic is to release any medication people may need and to adhere to basic check-ups and vaccinations.
