Empangeni police seek deceased’s next of kin

Police seek assistance from members of the community to locate the family of Mpilo Gwala (39), who was admitted to King Edward Hospital on 8 February.

Gwala was found at the roadside with assault injuries, and was unconscious. He was admitted for a head injury.

King Cetshwayo Cluster spokesperson Captain Siyanda Shangase said Gwala succumbed to his injuries on 28 February.

“It is believed that Gwala is from the Macekane area. He was certified dead by Dr DM Andrew and his body is at the mortuary for post-mortem,” said Shangase.

Shangase urged anyone who might know the deceased’s family, to contact him on 082 5570834.

“He is dark in complexion, weighs about 75kg and is about 1.7m tall,’ said Shangase.
