Shots fired following robbery in Mtubatuba

Mtubatuba town-goers were left startled after shots were fired following an armed robbery earlier today (Monday).

According to reports, two supermarket employees were robbed at gunpoint near a bank opposite the store, where they were headed to make a deposit.

One of the employees said he was shocked when, out of the blue, a firearm was pressed against his temple and he was robbed of the money.

The employee said he does not recall how many suspects robbed him as he was in a state of shock, and that seconds after he was robbed, shots were fired.

The police were called to the scene and said no injuries were reported.
